Gdynia’s chess is spread across its neighbourhoods. Witomino is the busiest corner: the culture club of the Bałtyk housing cooperative on ul. Narcyzowa hosts round-robin tournaments, seasonal opens and the Witomino rapid series. The Navy Club on ul. Zawiszy Czarnego plays blitz and a yearly memorial, the Zygmunt August Hall of the Polish Naval Academy has hosted Pomeranian youth and academic championships, and Klub 43 in Babie Doły holds tournaments for children and ranking tournaments.

Teaching happens at the chess studio of the Youth Culture Centre on ul. Grabowo and in the chess section of WKS Flota, while TKKF Rzemyk is named on the pages of Gdynia tournaments, among them the SzachMatek open at Primary School No. 34 in Redłowo. Orłowo has a café chess evening at Cafe Espressya, and the Mały Kack library has run free weekly workshops for all ages.
